I teach children and adults, from beginner to advanced, at my home in Watford. I can also help with general musicianship, aural, theory and composition. I am currently full up for after-school slots and new slots are unlikely to become available for the forseeable future. I do have daytime slots available.
I studied music (including piano and composition) at New College, Oxford and King’s College London. After graduating I taught musicianship, composition and A-level music at Trinity College of Music, Junior Department before starting a career in arts management. I returned to music making and I am now a freelance pianist and teacher. I love playing contemporary music and several composers have written pieces for me. I have two children aged 5 and 1. I have a DBS enhanced certificate.
If you would like to learn the piano you are going to need to have a piano at home, which can be an acoustic piano or full-size digital piano.
I regularly accompany instrumentalists and singers for grade exams, diplomas and auditions. If you need an accompanist please get in touch.
If you’re interested in piano lessons for yourself or your child, please contact me. I will ask you to complete a form detailing you or your child’s level and goals and we can take it from there.
